Dear NxT Step Pediatrics Families,
I am excited to share that beginning July 27, 2026, NxT Step Pediatrics will join Cook Children’s Physicians Network and become Cook Children’s Pediatrics – Frisco.
Most importantly, I am not retiring and I am not leaving my patients. I will continue providing the same personalized, compassionate care you know and trust—now with the added support and resources of the Cook Children’s network.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s life. It has been my greatest privilege to care for your families, and I look forward to continuing that journey for many years to come.

Temporary Office Closure
To allow for a smooth transition, the office will be closed for in-person visits on Monday, July 27th & Tuesday, July 28th.
Our phones will remain open during this time, and our team will be available to assist you.
Most scheduled appointments will remain unchanged. If any changes are needed, our office will contact you directly.

As we transition to Cook Children’s, you may receive a call from our team to update your information and help you set up access to a new patient portal.

Insurance Information
Cook Children’s accepts many insurance plans, but coverage varies by individual policy.
We encourage families to:
1) Review Cook Children’s accepted insurance information
2) Contact the number on the back of their insurance card to verify benefits
Medical Records
Dr. Okammor will continue to have access to your child’s medical records to ensure continuity of care.
You may also request copies of your NxT Step Pediatrics records at any time by contacting our office.
